Kirkby Stephen is a traditional Cumbrian market town, set in the beautiful Eden Valley, in close proximity to the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District Nation Park. Awarded ‘Walkers Welcome’ status with Wainright’s Coast to Coast Walk, Lady Anne’s Way and the Walney to Wear cycle route running through the town. It makes it an ideal stop off point, or as a base to enjoy the surrounding countryside. There is much to offer the outdoor enthusiast; with rich wildlife and nature on the doorstep. The town boasts many historic buildings, cobbled yards, quaint corners and interesting shops.
The Nateby Road Bridle Path, which is part of the Poetry Walk, runs adjacent to Bollam Cottage and leads along the River Eden to the natural beauty spot locally known as Stenkrith Falls. This puts our B&B in a unique location, both central, and yet having all the benefits of a countryside retreat.
There is a varied calendar of events with activities for all tastes throughout the season, details of which can be found on the Kirkby Stephen Website. For ideas about cycling and walking in the area try Visit Eden.
Kirkby Stephen has something for everyone please come and explore- a warm welcome awaits.
